The International Pedagogy staff take an role located in the Pagoda Union Building (PUB) room 9302. It is the department of Shoreline Community Higher that oversees international educatee outreach, orientation, partnerships, immigration, academic advising, and study abroad programs.

Before joining Shoreline, Samira was an International Pupil/Scholar Advisor at the Academy of Michigan. She has two Masters degrees - in German and in Teaching English equally A Second Language. Originally from Republic of india, she has besides lived and studied in Europe and speaks several languages.

Lianne Almughirah

Lianne is originally from Vermont but has lived all over the U.S. She has also lived in Sweden and Russia. Lianne previously worked as an International Student Advisor at N Dakota State University and Banana Managing director for International and Multicultural Student Services at Arkansas Tech Academy. Lianne attended the University of Maine at Farmington, where she received tremendous support and guidance from the staff and faculty. It was this experience, along with being an international student herself, that created her passion for service as a mentor and guide for international students during their college experience.

Julz grew up in the Seattle area.  She has worked with customs colleges for the past few years, and has been working with the admissions team at Shoreline Community College since 2014.  Julz loves the atmosphere that community colleges bring and connecting with students from all over the globe.  She loves going for adventures to new places, spending fourth dimension with friends, her family, and their dogs.

Jinhee is from Due south Korea and she also studied in Red china. She came to Shoreline Community College as a student in 2016, majored in Communication Studies, and earned her Acquaintance Degree in Spring 2018. She worked as an IPM (ISL) and Part Assistant during her time of study. Living in different countries, and studying and working as an international educatee here has helped her better sympathize the struggles that international students have while living in the U.Due south. Kachouaz (Kat) is French past birth, Hmong by ethnicity and American by citizenship. Kat holds a B.A. from the U of MN, Twin Cities in Global Studies with a focus on Civilization, Ethnicity and Identity. Prior to Shoreline, Kat worked for a Tour Operator and for an airline. She has enjoyed traveling multiple times to Europe and Asia. Equally a multicultural individual, Kat understands the challenges of adjusting to a new surround and juggling different identities. She looks forward to supporting international students during their growth here at Shoreline Community College. Kat enjoys tiny living with her 2 cats and spending time with her niece.

Bo Fu

Bo Fu has lived in the United States since 1995. Bo has a main's degree in International Studies from Peking University in China. Bo lectured on International Politics and Relations at Shandong University in early 1990s. Bo taught Mandarin Chinese at Shoreline, South Seattle, and Edmonds colleges for many years. He has been actively engaging in international teaching promotion for over two decades. Bo traveled extensively to recruit international students and develop global partnerships for Shoreline.  Bo believes that international education and global cooperation help protect the environment, improve the well-being of human society, maintain globe peace, enhance mutual agreement, and promote respect for cultural diversity. Bo loves traveling, taking road trips, and listening to classical music.

A Metro Detroit native, Lisa has worked in several international instruction roles over the past decade, including in outreach, international student services, and instructing both college-level and ESL courses. She earned her Master's in Counseling-Educatee Affairs and her Bachelor'south in International Studies-Business organisation. Lisa taught English in Republic of korea and Taiwan earlier attending graduate schoolhouse, and was fortunate to take six study away experiences throughout college and loftier school. Because Lisa has visited, studied, lived or worked in over lx countries, she loves helping new international students find their path to study in the US.

Soo Kyung Park

Soo has been working in higher education for over 15 years and joined the International Pedagogy Department at Shoreline in tardily Fall 2021. She is originally from S Korea and earned a Available'due south degree in Global Studies and a Master of Education degree from University of Washington. She also has certificates from Harvard Business School in Global Business organization and the University of Oxford, England in branding and marketing courses. She has extensive experience in admissions, advising, pupil date, business development, designing marketing strategy, and recruitment with traveling to over 25 countries to meet prospective students. She has never thought "this is simply a job". It is part of her life, and she cares deeply about students' education at centre. Soo is a native speaker of Korean, fluent in Japanese, and enjoys learning Chinese.

After completing her undergraduate studies at Arkansas Tech University, she chose to earn a master's degree in Educatee Affairs Assistants because of her dedication to supporting international students and promoting internationalization in higher teaching.
